WHY

Comms Leadership for High-Profile Partnerships

About WHY

WHY is an architecture firm specializing in museums, galleries, and installations for major institutional clients domestically and internationally, led by founder Kulapat Yantrasast. My work provided a muscly appendage to the firm's in-house teams, bringing projects to life through discerning and sensitive comms and messaging strategies across platforms, from digital to in situ.

As a contractor, I ideated and executed WHY’s editorial and creative communications for owned and partner channels, as well as quotes and remarks for founder Kulapat Yantrasast for partner campaigns, public appearances, and installations. This work was rooted in close collaboration with design team leaders and firm directors, and included everything from project texts to comms strategies on social and web platforms.

During my tenure, I also represented and advocated for the firm in marketing strategy sessions with clients including The Cheech Museum in Riverside, California; Frieze Art Fair in Los Angeles; and the American Museum of Natural History in New York. Lastly, I led op-ed projects with Mark Thomann, head of WHY’s landscape design workshop, and collaborated with his team on botany-inspired signage and wayfinding systems for WHY’s design of the Frieze L.A. pavilions – a fun project that greeted guests with “quotes” by each planted species, based on their characteristics.
