MillerKnoll: Innovation Copywriting

Ideas Made Alive

About MillerKnoll: Innovation Copywriting

MillerKnoll is a global collective of iconic design brands operating at the frontier of materials science, sustainability, and human-centered design. I was brought in by the SVP of Design, Innovation and Sustainability, and Global Product Design Director, respectively, leading outputs across two distinct projects. Both required quick fluency in MillerKnoll's brand voice and complex stakeholder ecosystem, and the ability to translate technical insights and subject matters into accurate, legible, persuasive materials for a range of critical audience buy-ins.

In Pursuit of Carbon Reductions

My first engagement with MillerKnoll was for their inaugural Innovation Science Fair. The internal event aimed to secure business-wide investment in emerging engineering projects, with an eye on the company’s 2030 carbon reduction and circularity goals.
I served as a technical copywriter, leading data-intensive stakeholder interviews and developing all written creative assets for the event’s life-sized signage, printed materials, and installation assets.
Proprietary subjects included bioplastics, contract energy transference modules, and performance gaming technologies. This specialized set of corporate communications demanded editorial dexterity and a research-minded approach. My contributions resulted in the creation of the event’s primary touchpoints, guiding key opinion leaders – from scientists and C-Suiters to sales and marketing – through multiple presentations, made life-sized.

Trend Forecasting – a Global Design Lens

In my second project with MillerKnoll, I leveraged my research background and familiarity with global design trends to support a series of high-stakes forecasting documents. As a strategic copywriter and editor, I worked closely with the Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) team to produce these high-visibility assets for internal presentation, closely attending to brand tone, creative direction, and audience.
